Some items that warrant credits are Hip roof design, secondary water barrier, hurricane straps on rafters at the wall top plates, approved hurricane shutters or impact windows and wind rated architectural shingles. Homes built since 2007 were built under the Louisiana Uniform Constructions Code and should have some items that receive credits on the wind and hail portion of the homeowners policy.

Single and two family residential properties qualify. Check with your insurance agent.
