We offer a full range of surveying disciplines, with services ranging from Hydrographic, GPS and Topographic Survey services to Computer Aided Drafting.
The M&E tools include AutoCAD, Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) and Post Processed Kinematic GPS survey capabilities.
Mr. Coggin, co-founder of Morgan & Eklund, Inc., is the Chief Surveyor/Project Manager and has over 41 years of land and hydrographic survey experience.
He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company, including project scheduling, client contact, quality control and supervision of personnel.
He is also in charge of our hydrographic survey operations.
His marine related abilities (i.e., boat handling, rigging, weather and ocean knowledge) and experience in land and coastal projects, including boundary and topographic surveys, establishing horizontal and vertical control, mean high water line surveys, and hydrographic surveys make him a very competent team leader.
Morgan & Eklund, Inc. has been collecting data from the ocean for 36 years.
Bathymetric elevation data and the digital terrain models (DTM) derived from that data are utilized for planning of dredging and navigation projects, computation of erosion and accretion rates and for port and harbor improvement projects.
The data can be collected using one of our single beam fathometers or multibeam systems dependent on the purpose of the bathymetric survey data which may include depth clearance, pre- and post-dredge volumetric calculations, offshore sediment borrow area quantities, and post-storm beach erosion analysis.
The Morgan & Eklund, Inc. staff consists of four Registered Land Surveyors, three survey crews, and three survey technicians.
All of our field personnel have extensive experience working safely in and around the ocean and inland waters.
M&E has performed hundreds of beach, dune and nearshore profiles throughout Florida for beach restoration design, construction and monitoring.
Additionally, our survey crews have extensive experience with levee cross-sections for levee restoration, measuring elevations through miles of marsh using Marsh Master track vehicles and airboats and performing bathymetric surveys of large lakes (Lake Apopka), rivers (Withlacoochee River) and streams for the South Florida Water Management District, the St. Johns River Water Management District and the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
