Non destructive testing is used through out the survey process unless otherwise requested. Thermal Imaging Camera - for use on hull, deck, cored structural components, electrical equipment, and engines - provides a visual image in infrared. The image can identify areas of moisture intrusion and laminate voids in FRP and Carbon layups. Osmotic blisters that have retreated and are not visually detectable can also be seen.
Appropriate and inappropriate hot or cool spots in mechanical systems (engine and running gear) and electrical components (switch panels battery chargers, power cords and etc.) can be made visible in infrared.

A pre-purchase survey (sometimes called a "Condition and Valuation survey") is strongly advised when purchasing a new or used yacht.
Condition and overall operation of the yacht should be examined.
This includes such items as structural integrity, out of water inspection, sea trial, electrical systems, navigation systems, propulsion system, fuel system, machinery, electronics, appearance and overall maintenance.
An afloat inspection including test operation of equipment, systems and appliances, with inspection of the internal structure and accessible structural components.
Condition and overall operation of the yacht should be examined.
This includes such items as structural integrity, out of water inspection, sea trial, electrical systems, navigation systems, propulsion system, fuel system, machinery, electronics, appearance and overall maintenance.
