Our services include archaeological surveys and construction monitoring for home owners and public projects, as well as site evaluations by a Professional Archaeologist. An archaeological survey is conducted when required for compliance with archaeological and historic preservation laws.
A survey consists of a thorough background investigation, an examination of surface sediments, documentation of any structures older than 50 years, and the excavation of test pits with a shovel throughout the project area to identify any below-ground cultural resources. After the survey is completed, the results are documented in a cultural resources report with recommendations for how to proceed.
